I created The Early Intervention Tutorials for you
Hey there! I want to introduce myself. My name is Joy and I’m so glad you’re here!
I remember what it was like being a brand new educator working with young kids on the spectrum. I had no idea what I was doing.
I had worked with adults before, but working with kids was a whole other ball game.
Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, educator, therapist, etc., it can be so overwhelming trying to find ways to individualize intervention so that the child you’re working with can make the most progress.
I created the Early Intervention Tutorials to help simplify your life. I know you want the absolute best for the kid(s) you’re working with.
I’ll teach you how to easily adapt activities to target specific skills while having fun and strengthening relationships.
Wondering if the Early Intervention Tutorials will work for you?
The tutorials are for anyone who works with a child 6 and younger with developmental delays. You do not have to be an Early Interventionist by profession.
The EI Tutorials are all play-based. Some strategies are based on the Play Project, which is a developmental and relationship based intervention. I first received my Play Project Consultant Certification in 2009. Other strategies come from my Master’s of Education degree, Early Childhood Special Education degree and experiences over the years.
No. Your child does not need a diagnosis for the tutorials to be applicable for you. Here are some reasons you may want to take this course:
Yes. The tutorials are geared towards kids ages 6 and under.
No. The tutorials are focused on developmental progress and relationships. Although building a strong relationship is a key component to managing behavior, behavior interventions are not covered in this course.
Autism is a spectrum, and no child is exactly the same. There are however, different stages that kids go through as they progress developmentally. In the tutorials I explain these stages and teach you how to determine what stage your child is at. You’ll then learn how to individualize different techniques and strategies according to what stage your child is at.
If you want to be able to supplement the learning your child is receiving outside of your home, this is the perfect way to do that. The tips and strategies can be used during play sessions, or they can be used during your every day activities. Sometimes just tweaking the things you’re already doing can have a big effect.
